Android by Google and iOS by Apple are the two operating systems that always creates a conflict in people’s mind about which is better. The answer lies in many factors that you should analyze according to your demands and needs. Smartphones should be chosen with smart choices and here are some major key differences you should know.

Security

The security of iOS apps is highly advanced than that of Android. It is too hard for hackers to penetrate into an iOS app since it has a very closed ecosystem. iOS provides a strict app store with consistent updates, making it highly secure from cyber attackers.

Android, on the other hand, includes protective measures like sandboxing, two-step verification, Google Play Protect, and app permissions to ensure the safety of the apps. But, since Android doesn’t prevent users from getting access to different websites, its security is also less compared to iOS. Moreover, Google itself admitted the fact that 0.16% of all apps contain malware.

Tap-and-Go

Apple Pay is the mobile payment system of iOS. It is incorporated with fingerprint identification of users which makes it secure and smooth to use. iOS offers Passbook, an app that collects in-one-place tickets, reward cards, and credit/debit cards. Many banks and credit card companies prefer Apple Pay and some skip the option for Google Pay.

Android has Google Wallet for mobile payments. Some Android phones are equipped with an NFC chip (near-field communication) and it helps in wireless payments simply by tapping the phone at the checkout counter. This service integrates with Google Wallet but is not available on all Android phones.

Timely Upgradation

Most businesses prefer the IOS app due to its frequent upgrades. iOS upgrades are available on all iOS devices. iOS users can get the latest updates as soon as Apple launches them.

When it comes to Android, the users have to get the update from Google, install it, and optimize it on their device, which is a late process compared to iOS. Moreover, there may not be an upgrade to the latest version of Android for all phones and tablets.

Simplicity

People always prefer simpler and user-friendly apps. iOS reigns supreme when it comes to supremacy. Since Apple creates both the software and hardware, the strong integration between them makes it so smooth and easy to use.

Since Android is an open-source platform, it offers you more Freedom, Control, and Customization than iOS. Also, if you are a lover of multitasking, Android is the best for you. You can split the screens for two apps and control them at a moment.

AI and Voice assistants

Google Assistant provides a far more excellent voice interface for Google search. It will make the use of applications much easier and also let you know some important information beforehand. Google Assistant can aim to pick up different voices well and execute them, which makes it easy to use in a family.

Siri is simply smart to make calls, compose emails, and text messages hands-free and is generally smarter and more streamlined. Only the individual using the device can control Siri. With the growing number of smart devices, the performance of Siri is quite behind compared to Google Assistant.

So, in general, choosing iOS or Android depends on the factors you wish to consider. Both phones’ ecosystem has both advantages and disadvantages, and it requires logical thinking before you end in a smart decision. Consider these factors and go for the best choice that suits your budget and needs.
